As a professional, you likely want to work on something that enhances your long term value along with bringing short term joys. In knowledge work, long term value is achieved through expertise – that is the lever which determines how fast you grow and what responsibilities you shoulder.
Expertise, the ability to quickly and definitively solve complex problems, is what distinguishes the winners and allows them to make their mark in the world. This expertise comes from working on fundamentally tough problems, taking bold bets, doing what others have not done before or improving the status quo by multiple times. Usually, it is all of the above.
If you have an interest in computer programming, especially algorithm design, machine learning and distributed systems, Zingg is a place you should seriously consider. We are a well funded startup in the area of data management using AI. We are building frameworks for intelligent data transformations on the modern data stack, aided by AI. Our work comprises of lots of algorithmic design, systems thinking, and distributed programming. We also worry a lot about scalability, performance and UX.
As with all interesting work, there are pockets of stuff that just needs to get done, and we make sure we deliver that well. Sometimes we are raring to build some cool stuff but we know the market is not ready yet, and we have the discipline to wait it out.
As founding team, we do what it takes to roll the ship!
Our algorithms are in the areas of machine learning, NLP and graphical structures for structured and unstructured text. All our work is open source, which means you have international recognition for your work. See for example, dbt Labs’s CEO Tristan Handy’s coverage of Zingg.
Zingg is under the spotlight, here are some luminaries who have starred our repo. (TIP: can you hunt the creator of Apache Spark and Cofounder of Databricks in the picture below? 😉)
We are amongst the hottest data and AI startups from India (We believe in it right from the start and now Stellaris Venture partners has put us on the map :D)
You will have the opportunity to do the greatest work of your life, by building together the product, the culture and the vision. Our dream is to fundamentally alter how data is transformed and utilized in enterprises. We are very selective, building the core team of founding engineers before we are ready to scale. Java and Scala are our current languages of choice – driven by the performance needs of our problem statement, and we may also look at Python for some work going ahead. Foundational zero to one thinking is what we care more about rather than the syntax.
